Latest Five Nights At Freddy's Movie News
The most recent Five Nights At Freddy's news offers more footage for the highly-anticipated video game adaptation. The latest trailer for Five Nights At Freddy's puts the animatronic creatures in the spotlight as they are introduced in this wild story. The trailer for the FNAF movie also puts more emphasis on the horror aspects of the story rather than the goofy comedy of the premise that led to earlier trailers. The result is a creepy and fast-moving look at the movie that looks to be the kickoff of a final big marketing push as the movie closes in on its release date.
With the competing tones of comedy and horror at play, it is not surprising that the trailers have tried to sell both aspects of the Five Nights At Freddy's movie. The trailer also highlights the movie as coming "From Blumhouse Producer Of M3gan," which feels like a wise comparison to make in order to sell a horror movie with a good bit of absurdity to it. The trailers for FNAF have also all highlighted the stars of the movie — Freddy Fazbear and his cohort of murderous animatronic pals — showcasing both their accuracy to the video games and how terrifyingly well they work in live-action.

Five Nights At Freddy's Movie Release Date
After its long development, Five Nights At Freddy's release date is October 27, 2023. Alongside it's theatrical release some viewers in the United States will also be able to watch the Five Nights At Freddy's movie from the comfort of their own homes, as it will be released on Peacock simultaneously. The October release for the FNAF movie has been a long time coming, since a live-action adaption of Five Nights At Freddy's has been in discussion for several years.
In April 2015, Warner Bros. Studios announced that a live adaptation of Five Nights At Freddy's was in development, with Gil Kenan set to direct. However, problems soon arose as production faced many setbacks, which was mainly down to the film industry. With it still being stuck in development hell by 2017, the Five Nights At Freddy's eventually moved to Blumhouse Productions, with producer Jason Blum announcing that it was now set to be directed by Christopher Columbus and written by Scott Cawthon.
Unfortunately, production on the Five Nights At Freddy's movie faced even more delays after Cawthon announced he was redrafting the script, and then Columbus left the project in 2021. Luckily, the team managed to find another director quickly as Blum announced in October 2022 that Emma Tammi would now helm the project and help Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback co-write the script. Now, at long last, FNAF is due to hit theaters in October 2023.

The Five Nights At Freddy's Movie: What Happens In The Story
Similar to the games, the Five Nights At Freddy's movie story sees a security guard take up the night shift at the abandoned Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. However, this turns out to be one of the most difficult nights of their life as the guard discovers that the animatronic mascots that have been left there turn into dangerous serial killers after midnight. They must then spend the rest of the night trying to survive while also learning about the pizzeria's dark history.
Josh Hutcherson's Mike Schmidt is a security guard in the live-action adaptation, and much like the games runs into terror on his first night on the job. However, it does appear that the writers may have added their own creative liberties to the supernatural horror. Piper Rubio's Abby Schmidt, Mike's younger sister, is a new character for the Five Nights At Freddy's movie, and the target of Freddy Fazbear and the other murderous mascots. Mike has to prevent them from turning Abby into one of them, and the trailer insinuates, that in the FNAF movie plot, Freddy and the other mascots may be possessed by missing children.
Will The FNAF Movie Get A Sequel?
There has been no official confirmation that a sequel to the Five Nights At Freddy's movie is in the works. However, that doesn't mean there won't be. Although it depends on how the Five Nights At Freddy's movie is received, Cawthon had stated that he did have an idea in mind for where the sequel movie could go (via Bloody Disgusting). The chances of a sequel also happening look extremely promising, especially as Matthew Lillard revealed to the podcast WeeklyMTG that he had signed a "three-picture deal with Universal and Blumhouse" in 2023. If this is true, then the official announcement will likely arrive a couple of days after the movie's release.
